Georgia has made Significant changes in the field of disability in the last decade. On 14 July 2020, the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was adopted, harmonizing national legislation with the principles and values of the United Nations Convention (CRPD). Georgia is transforming from a medical to a biopsychosocial model. Independent living centers, personal assistant programs, and various rehabilitation services are available to foster the independencies of people with special needs.
